What is a LocalAds Community Board?
A LocalAds community board is your very own Notice Board that you and your community can post notices on.

Can anyone else see my Notice Board?
When you create the notice board you have an option to password control it. What this means is that people who wish to access your notice board must know the password.

Can I moderate my Board?
Indeed you can. This is another option you can set when you create the notice board. If set, every notice placed by the 'community' will not be displayed until you approve it.

I am a teacher at school and want one notice board for the parents of year 2 and one notice board for the football club?
That is no problem. Simple create two notice boards, one for each audience. As these are for a school we would recommend a simple naming convention, such as school name + purpose. e.g. oxford-year2, oxford-football. We would also recommend password control & moderation.

Can I decide which order the notice appear in?
Yes we have an easy to use tool that allows you to move a notice up and down the board whenever you wish.

Can I remove old notices or do I need to contact the person who placed it?
The moderator can delete any notice on their board. The notice creator can also delete their notices.

Is there a shortcut to reach my Notice Board?
Every board created can optionally have its own URL that takes you straight to the notice board. e.g. oxford-year2.communityboard.co.uk, oxford-football.community.co.uk.

Do you have an example notice board we can look at?
Yes we do. It is called Example Notice Board and is unmoderated & not password contolled. It can be accessed directly by typing in the following URL - enb.communityboard.co.uk.

Note that you do not have to choose the URL to be same same as the board name. We chose enb as a short form of Example Notice Board.

How come this is all free?
LocalAds is a new type of web site that believes in offering fee community features that are subsidised from our other activities. Can my organisation have a community Notice Board?
We loosely define a community as a non profit making organisation. Typically this would be Schools, Colleges, Clubs, Communities, Churches, etc. If in doubt please contact us.
